Helping with decorations

I love this time of year. That's when they get all those lovely decorations out. They are just so fun to play with. Of course I'm older now, so I don't get the urge nearly as often to knock things over. Also, mama didn't put the miniature people out this year, so there is no temptation there. Fat Frosty always likes to sleep on that red, wrap around, blanket thing that they always put under the Christmas tree, but I'd rather sit on the white cotton stuff they call snow.

Those silly humans! A couple days ago they took all ornaments off the tree, (they wanted to do something with it). And you know what? I got to help out putting them back on it! Here's me picking out the next one. It was so much fun. They all have these beautiful strings hanging off them, and you know me, I just love strings! :D

Favorite sleeping places

My sleeping habits really change when the weather cools off. Not only do I absolutely love to sleep in front of the bathroom heater, but it's the only place I can stretch out fully in the winter. I also like to sit on mama's lap during dinner time. Here's me in as tight a ball as I can get myself into. ;P Winter is the only time I will sit on people's laps, but only on my own terms, I will add! But one of the greatest places to sleep in the fall and winter is on a pillow, on the hearth, in front of the fire!! Ohh, I just love that! If someone is sitting on my pillow and they get up, I will snatch that nice and cozy seat in a heart beat. And when the fire dies down I'll even move so that I'm right next to the screen, as close as I can get to it. Mama calls me a cat's cat for things like that. :D

Rainy Day

Why is it that on rainy days, I'm more restless? I gave mama a run for her money this morning when I decided to get my toy mouse out and bat it all around the kitchen. She had to first get it out for me, then she had it pull it out of a hidden corner that I couldn't get my paws into. She finally decided to get some pictures, but it was too late! I was done. ;-)

They decided to have soup for lunch today, and the black dog wanted to get a share of it, so he sat in front of Big Mama. Well that just wasn't going to do, so I got on her lap to make I'd be the first get some if it was going to be given out! Well, neither of us got any. I'll have to work on my persuasion technique.

Whenever mama goes in the kitchen I go in there with her to see if there's going to be anything good coming of it. But the Big Mama said I'm getting to be like a dog. Oh, I resent that!! How dare she compare be me to one of those dirty smelly beasts. We cats have to stick together on this one. We are felines, and deserve to be treated as such.

No Tuna!

They tricked me tonight! Mama's mother cooked tuna patties, but there was no can or bowl to lick. The first I smelled of them, they were already cooking. I got to the kitchen, and did my best to ask nicely, but when that didn't work I had to move to a more pathetic cry. Here's me in that mode:
I even had to resort to lifting one of my from paws, and just holding it there. Finally I was given the tiniest morsel. Not nearly enough! I even stayed off mama's lap for the first part of dinner to show my dissatisfaction. They keep saying I'm addicted to tuna, but that just isn't true! It can't be, I must have my tuna.

Salmon for dinner

Mama's mother made salmon for dinner tonight. I sat on mama's lap hoping to butter her up to give me some, but she said I had to wait until she was done before I could have any. However I finally got to Dad, and he gave me some salmon! Finally mama felt that she had to give me some, or I'd get off her lap. ;D What fun! Frosty finally woke up and Dad gave him some too. But I still got more! Now I need to start planning my next persuasion...
